Dr. B. Vaseeharan, born in Sharakkalvilai, Kanaya kumari district of Tamil Nadu, India, finished the schooling at the Government of Tamil Nadu, passing out with first class. I entered in research since 1992 and from there I never looked back in my career as research achieving milestones year after year. My areas of expertise include Aquatic Animal Health Biotechnology, Crustacean molecular biology & genomics, Molecular Biology & Immunology, Nanoscience &Technology, Crustacean Immunology- Biodefence gene function and regulation, Genetic diversity.
My knowledge in the subject and fervent towards research was well appreciated by mentors and fetched with “YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD” – 2009 by Department of Science and Technology, India and many other awards. I am active member of many societies. I have published my research findings in peer reviewed journals like Fish and Shellfish Immunology, Aquaculture, Molecular Immunology, Nanomedicine.
Apart from India, I continue my research activities with the collaborating Universities ie Queens University of Belfast, UK, National Taiwan Ocean University, Taiwan and Center of Excellence for Shrimp Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (CENTEX SHRIMP), Mahidol University, Thailand. My research projects were funded by UGC, DBT, DST, CSIR and INDO-UK and INDO-TAIWAN. As a researcher, my aim is to offer high quality data and credible work in scientific research. As a guide to young research scholars I provide them a good research management and outstanding research knowledge. In both these roles I continuously strives to work for a safer and better human society, because for me science is not just a research, but is much more.
